Innovation is the lifeblood of the Regal Beloit Corporation which is expanding its presence in Australia.

Founded 60 years ago, the company is a leading manufacturer of electric motors, electrical motion controls, power generation and power transmission products.

With corporate headquarters in Beloit Wisconsin in the United States, the company is supported by manufacturing, sales and service facilities in Canada, Mexico, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.

Regal Beloit owns many of the world’s leading industrial product ranges and brands including Marathon motors, generators, drives and power systems together with Fasco motors, capacitors, fans and blowers, Genteq capacitors, variable speed drives, Durst drives and gearboxes, just to name a few.

Throughout international markets engineering and research and development teams are in place providing local expertise, product support and customisation to meet the needs of a diversity of industrial applications.

Regal Australia is headquarted in Rowville, Victoria and in addition to offices across Australia, the company has five modification centres operating in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia.

Regal Australia’s sales and marketing director, Malcolm Henri, said that since 2010 Regal Australia has acquired a number of complementary local businesses that provide an increased product offering to the Asia Pacific region.

This includes Fasco Australia the designer and manufacturer of a diverse range of fractional horsepower and electric motors. This company is able to draw on a century long history of practical and technical excellence.

Part of Fasco Australia is Torin Industries which is based at Rowville along with the Australian Fan & Motor Company. The Rowville facility manufactures a diverse range of direct drive fans, belt drive fans and axial fans which are supplied to original equipment manufacturers.

Regal has also acquired the former CMG Engineering Group specialists in electric motors, geared motors and AC drives. The group has a Transmission Australia unit and the OBA division (formerly known as O’Brien AIM), a major supplier of electrical and thermal insulation products.

Die caster Sankey Australia which has a purpose built manufacturing centre in Dandenong, Victoria provides custom aluminium pressure, gravity and zinc diecast components to ISO certified quality.

Within this group Regal Cairns (formerly Marlin Coast Motor Rewinds) which was acquired late in 2012 provides around the clock workshop repair and service facilities for all popular brands of electric motors, alternators and submersible pumps.

“This is a broad product offering which is relevant to virtually every industrial process or manufacturing activity in the region,” Henri said.

“Together with our strong technical support and research and development focus, it means customers can get everything from one company.”
