While we have celebrated some spectacular highs in recent weeks, Australia’s HVACR industry has also witnessed a
number of tragic lows, most notably the death of a Sydney man from legionnaires’ disease.

To date nine people have been infected with the disease and NSW Health authorities are still trying to identify the source
of the outbreak. Another troubling report appeared in The Age newspaper about a young man in his 20s that suffered burns to his face, chest and legs after an air conditioning unit exploded.

CCN is working to verify unsubstantiated claims the explosion was due to a refrigerant. However, a spokesperson from Ambulance Victoria said it looked like the man suffered oil burns.

Moving on to a more positive note, Australia will play host to international guests later this year as part of an information sharing deal that is unprecedented for the HVACR industry. We have managed to go beyond Australian shores to attract the attention of international researchers willing to share their insights with readers of this magazine at this year’s CCN Live event on August 2, 2016.

I am thrilled to be able to announce CCN’s partnership with Lux Research, an advisory firm that conducts 5,000 interviews per year in 45 countries to get the latest competitive data relating to HVACR. Try to imagine combining CCN’s local expertise as a daily news provider for the industry with the primary research generated by Lux analysts and this combined force will drive the intel we are planning to share with participants at this year’s CCN Live event in Sydney.

When it comes to delivering, CCN Live 2016 has raised the bar to a whole new level. We want to give you access to the best information possible by ensuring the CCN Live breakfast event is worth your time and attention. Get ready to secure early bird rates by booking your tickets as soon as they become available later this month at www.climatecontrolnews.com.au
