Leading refrigeration components manufacturer and distributor, Sky Refrigeration, continues to grow with new facilities and staff.

This week the company announced the opening of its new distribution hub in Lilydale, Victoria.

Sky managing director, Pete Schey said it is called a hub as "we ship to over 150 wholesale outlets and over 20 OEM’s nationally."

He said strong growth in 2015 coupled with the need to guarantee delivery in-full and on -time has driven the decision to move distribution back inhouse.

"This new central hub has seen us move from warehousing and distributing through a third party in each state and New Zealand, to bringing distribution inhouse and under our own control," he said.

"We also found third party distribution took us away from having the critical personal interaction with the market and the ability to sense changes in trends, attitudes and expectations.

"Since our inception we have been customer focused, best product, best stock levels and best possible delivery times.

"Feedback from customers pointed to logistics as an area we could improve; with that in mind we went about planning the ideal logistics offering, huge stock holdings and same cost effective day shipping."

While Sky’s conduit to market will remain through the best wholesalers, Schey said the new distribution hub and scheduled late pickup times will mean orders received before 3.30pm will be able to ship the same day.

While there is currently four staff handling operations which is overseen by David Holland, Sky Refrigeration is seeking a new sales person.

"David has been with us for three years and has built a great rapport with customers but due to continuing growth we need an additional team member," Schey said.

While the telephone number at Sky Refrigeration remains unchanged, the new address for sales and distribution is 54 Industrial Park Drive, Lilydale (Vic).
