Carel was a major exhibitor at the Data Centre World conference, held in London earlier this year.

Carel showcased its latest range of energy efficient control solutions and evaporative cooling solutions used in air conditioning for data centres.

The company's products are aimed at reducing energy consumption and the carbon footprint in the data centre.

These include energy efficient solutions for controls, sensors, electronic expansion valves, air conditioning and the latest data centre speed drives, evaporative cooling, humidification, supervisory systems and energy monitoring.

Carel Australia managing director Kevin Marr says the company's experience in data centres began as far back as the early 1980s.

It was the first company in Europe to produce a microprocessor-based controller for data centre air conditioning units in 1981, and was the first in the world in 1986 to produce a microprocessor-controlled steam humidifier.

It was also the first in Europe to produce a data centre AC unit supervisory system.

Carel's experience in this sector has allowed the company to complete projects for data centres in Europe and the US, as partners to the world's most important players in this market.

"The company is able to provide environmental monitoring services geared to assist customers increase performance, save energy, reduce operating costs and assist with the resolution of any humidity related issues,” Marr says.

"This can be done entirely by remote using cloud servers or alternatively by using a local monitoring system.”

Carel says it has founded its international reputation through continual development and a focus on customer needs, with a strategy focused on technology, quality, energy efficiency and innovation.

Its presence is well established across the globe with offices in 16 countries and product distribution in more than 80 countries.

Carel is just one of a long list of specialists to be profiled in a data centre feature which appears in the May edition of Climate Control News magazine.
