The former Governor of South Australia, Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce, has been appointed deputy chairman of the Seeley International Board of Directors.

Scarce joined the board in late 2014 after serving as the 34th Governor of South Australia from 2007 to 2014.

Seeley International founder and executive chairman, Frank Seeley, welcomed his appointment "into this key strategic role at Australia’s largest air conditioning and heating manufacturer."

"Scarce provides strategic input and wise counsel to our high-powered Board which is invaluable, and his integrity, vision, passion and commitment to South Australia mirrors our own core values,” Seeley said.

Scarce welcomed his elevation on the Board of the award-winning manufacturer. "I am honoured to accept this enhanced role on the Seeley International Board, and contribute further to an organisation that continues to set benchmarks for the industry,” he said.

"South Australian manufacturers can look to Seeley International as an example of how advanced manufacturing can be successful on a national and international scale by being innovative and incorporating automation into production activities."

Scarce served in the Royal Australian Navy from 1968, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral and head of Maritime Systems at the Defence Material Organisation.

He was awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross in 1994, the Knight of Grace in the Venerable Order of Saint John in 2007 and a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2008.
