Once again the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Expo (RACE) provided attendees with an opportunity to see the latest product innovations and get updated on the latest industry developments.

Held in Brisbane in mid-September, RACE attendance topped 300 with more than 50 different suppliers showcasing their wares.

Actrol business development manager, Andrew Leach, said this year's Expo was extremely interactive with challenges and competitions that allowed everyone to take something away with them from their RACE experience.

This is in addition to plenty of prizes and product giveaways with On Q Electrical winning a $5,000 holiday voucher.

Leach said the Expo was supported by a seminar program dealing with current industry issues such as the HFC phasedown and the future of refrigerants.

“There were a number of display stands that received an exceptional amount of attention. For example, the MaxiPro product drew a crowd with attendees amazed at the ease of copper joining without the need for a flame,” he said.

“Simarlily, the EVD-Ice product continued to draw attention. Attendees viewed the operating Carel product fitted to a Buffalo PS evaporator.

“This helped demonstrate the ease of commissioning and energy savings that can be achieved.”

Leach said another stand-out product that attracted big crowds was the Hot Block heat absorption putty. He said everybody was amazed at its ability to prevent heat transfer with ongoing live presentations staged at the Expo.

Attendees were also treated to a surprise show by renowned magician and illusionist Matt Hollywood who entertained crowds at the Extol stand.  “There was certainly something for everybody,” he said.

“Of course there were many other major product displays and demonstrations worthy of mention, too many to list here”

The event was also supported by industry groups AIRAH and RACCA.

“All of this success was due to the commitment and hard work by staff, suppliers and hosts alike,” Leach said. “A huge thank you is also due to everyone that attended the event, they helped make it the best RACE yet.”
