Bondor, Australia’s leader in thermal and architectural building solutions, has launched its Building Information Modelling (BIM) product library package, helping architects, engineers and builders to conceptualise designs using the company’s insulated panel systems.
Bondor national sales manager, Glen Roberts said since the BIM concept began, specifying and modelling projects had become much easier and Bondor was excited to share this latest functionality, developed by leaders in the BIM market.
He said Bondor’s BIM product library package would further simplify the process of specifiers incorporating Bondor’s innovative paneling systems into projects.
“Insulated panel construction presents economic, time and efficiency savings when compared with a traditional build. Frames, support, additional linings and multiple layers of bulk insulation can be replaced by just one layer of insulated panel in most cases,” Roberts said.
“By accessing our product library via BIM, users can easily integrate a range of wall and roof panel systems into their projects from either the concept stage or by ‘switching out’ and substituting Bondor materials into existing models.”
Roberts said users could extract drawings and objects from Bondor’s extensive library and adapt panel orientation, colour and profile to bring each concept to life, while ensuring each product was suitable to the project.
“Our library files are formatted like technical data sheets, displaying thermal, fire and span data allowing users to match the right panel properties to the project requirement,” he said.
Bondor’s BIM product library has been developed in partnership with 3D software companies Graphisoft and A2K Technologies, engaged by Bondor following significant market research conducted with architects.
“ArchiCAD andAutodesk Revit programs hold exclusive share of the market space so we found it extremely beneficial to develop our product range in both software programs for this project,”  Roberts said.
