Active Air Rentals has released an application to make the job of a HVAC technician much easier.

Developed in close collaboration with technicians with feedback from the market, Active Air Rentals director, Brad Sweeney, said the goal was to ensure the app was actually useful.

"Thanks to the insight we gained from HVAC techs the app offers a series of features which will allow them to make calculations on the fly and define heat loads without the need for inconvenient, paper-based conversion tables," he said.

"They can even order temporary air conditioning equipment from the app and have the option to call for a free consultation with one of our experts if they face a tricky job."

The app features a heatload calculator. Simply choose the environment (there are over 25 of the most common environments HVAC techs encounter provided), the available power, floor size and duct outlets then hit calculate and the app states how much cooling in kW is required.  It also recommends the best temporary equipment to fit the specifications.

Other calculations are also included. Sweeney said the app features six of the most common calculations HVAC techs use and they can go from imperial to metric or back the other way.

"If a tech knows what he or she wants there is a custom order button  to quickly browse temporary HVAC equipment and place an order," he said.

"This is just the first version of our app. Each version will have new features all aimed at making a technicians job easier."

The app is available now for iOS and Android go to  www.activeair.com.au
