The proven Buffalo Trident PS Series has been one of the top performing evaporators in the market for some time, but now comes as a value-added package with the inclusion of Carel’s new EVD-ice unit.

The EVD-ice for PS Series evaporators is the latest development between Buffalo Trident and Carel. This electronic valve driver solution is supplied fitted to the evaporator and provides estimators, installers, commissioners and end users massive benefits with easy application engineering, simple installation, 2 step setup and up to 30 per cent reduction in energy usage.

Additionally, extremely short pull-down times and system performance result in improved food quality and in turn further cost and efficiency savings to the end user.

The EVD-ice for PS Series was unveiled at BITZER’s technical roadshow last year as part of an energy efficient plug-and-play system for the supermarket sector and associated industries. For those looking for a high quality low or medium temperature evaporator, the addition of EVD-ice to the PS Series results in super easy commissioning, as the unit is available pre-wired to all components.

Plus, the Ultracap module is an additional option for users needing an IP65 rated solution, with over-molding completely sealing the device. Integrated within the unit are high tech capacitors and an intelligent charging process, enhancing capacitor life and reliability of backup power.

Designed by fridgies, for fridgies, the business end of the PS Series unit is easily accessible via a practical arrangement of panel sets, making servicing in the field quick and easy. The access panel of the PS houses the EVD-ice, consisting of an E2V valve, superheat control, connections for the supervisory monitoring system, and an extremely simple 2-parameter setup configuration control. Further advanced settings are accessible if system customisation is necessary.

BITZER’s national sales manager, Shannon Egan, says the long standing relationship between BITZER and CAREL has enabled both companies to work together in producing a set of products that categorically addresses the needs of customers at the coalface of the refrigeration sector.

“With both companies producing complimentary equipment, working together on designing the PS / EVD-ice combination was a natural progression," he said. "Since we launched, interest in the PS with EVD-ice has been incredible – it’s great to see a product so eagerly accepted by the industry.”
