The Australian Refrigeration Mechanics Association (ARMA) and the Australian Refrigeration Association (ARA) are collaborating on the development of an App for the RAC trade.

Dubbed “Mates Rates for Fridgys” the App allows fridgys to communicate directly with the HVACR trade.

ARMA CEO, Kim Limburg, said the App aims to provide the trade with all the information they need to run a successful business.

“The essence of the App is that it resides on the phone of the user. It enables the App owner to send push notifications that are effectively emails at no cost,” she said.

“It prompts the user whenever the App is updated with new information.

“There are about 55,000 fridgys and potential users out there, and this App will help them stay on top of their game.

“It will be structured to cover all of the topics that are needed to keep the entire trade fully informed.”

Limburg said the App is also an advertising opportunity for suppliers.

“To encourage fridgys to use the App suppliers can offer direct benefits like discounts, free goods or information they may need to be more productive,” she said.
