Engineers Australia has announced that respected chief executive officer Dr Bronwyn Evans, AM, will retire in April 2022, bringing to a close a recognised career as a corporate leader.

Engineers Australia chair Dr Nick Fleming said Evans had lent her extensive experience and future-focussed and innovative vision to deliver outstanding outcomes for members and the broader engineering community. Evans has led the organisation since 2019.

Her’ achievements at Engineers Australia include successful advocacy for the compulsory registration of engineers, promoting women in STEM, plus climate change initiatives, which include a flagship conference Climate Smart Engineering, headlined by Nobel laureate and former US vice president Al Gore.

“While the board and her team will miss her enormously, we know Dr Evans will continue to be a part of the Engineers Australia community and a leading voice across all facets of the profession,” Dr Fleming said.
