Australian engineering company, the Grosvenor Engineering Group, has appointed Graham Hindley to the role of chief operating officer (COO).

The company said his appointment is fundamental to Grosvenor’s efforts to maintain its double-digit growth trajectory underpinned by its pro-active data-led approach to technical asset management.

Prior to joining Grosvenor in 2016, Hindley, a qualified engineer, industrial relations and commerce professional had spent 20 years in senior management roles in Sydney, Malaysia, China and Germany for world-class engineering and manufacturing companies.

Nicholas Lianos, managing director at Grosvenor Engineering said that as general manager for NSW & ACT for the past three years, Hindley has delivered a proven track record in improving profitability and leading safe and efficient operations across the region.

During his tenure, net earnings in these regions increased 118 per cent, with regional net earnings increasing nine-fold.

“Hindley’s operational expertise and people skills are vital as we continue to transition our tradespeople and engineers to become true knowledge workers via integration of emerging property technologies (PropTech) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) in our day to day operations,” Lianos said.

Hindley said his focus will be on increasing operational efficiency and working with the group’s Board.

"This includes maintaining a customer focus and empowering staff," Hindley added.

His qualifications include a Bachelor of Social Science with a Major in Industrial Relations & Organisational Behaviour (University of New South Wales); Master of Commerce Major in Business Law & Taxation (University of New South Wales) and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Proteaville College, Cape Town, South Africa).
