The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) has received the prestigious Gold Medallion from WorldSkills Australia, honouring its longstanding partnership and unwavering support for refrigeration and air conditioning skills excellence across the country.

The medallion recognises ARC’s long-standing partnership WorldSkills Australia, which has been showcasing trade skills since 1981.

WorldSkills is a global movement that promotes vocational, technological, and service-oriented skills through competitions and other initiatives. It aims to raise the status of skilled trades and empower young people to excel in their chosen fields.

ARC’s collaboration with WorldSkills Australia spans several years with the council actively contributing to national and international competitions that empower young people to pursue a trade career.

ARC technical & training manager, Noel Munkman, said the organization is deeply honoured to receive this recognition from WorldSkills Australia.

“This medallion reflects our shared mission to inspire and equip the next generation of skilled professionals,” Munkman said.

“We believe in the power of hands-on learning and are proud to support programs that make a real difference in people’s lives.”

ARC’s involvement has included sponsorship of regional, national and international competitions, and direct engagement with apprentices and educators.

These efforts have helped raise the profile of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry and foster a culture of excellence and innovation within the sector.

“As we celebrate this milestone, ARC wants to reaffirm its commitment to supporting younger professionals to shape a brighter future for Australia’s workforce.” he said.
