Even after 20 years in the trade, Ryan Dodd is still passionate about his work and believes it takes flexibility and a willingness to listen to establish good relationships with clients.
As the service installations & contracts manager at Coldflow Heating & Cooling, Dodd gets to work with all kinds of businesses in a range of different industries.
“It’s what I like most about my job and working in the commercial sector means I go to different sites to discuss project planning for the installation of new air conditioning and heating systems,” he said.
“I am also involved in the preparation of service agreements. I love the different locations, different layouts and the different set ups and designs for the air conditioning and heating units within the commercial sectors.”
Dodd is proud of the company he represents and honoured to be the Tradie of the Year Award winner.
Coldflow Heating & Cooling is a family-owned business that has been operating for more than 50 years. The company estimates it has completed more than 150,000 installations.
“The air conditioning industry is super competitive these days, it takes hard work to stand out from the rest,” Dodd said.
“At the same time margins are getting tighter and manufacturers continue to increase prices.
“But the biggest challenge the industry has faced this year is COVID-19 it shut down commercial sites for most of 2020.”
Dodd’s other great passion is his family. “I married the love of my life and together we have three beautiful kids,” he said.
“I also enjoy working around the home doing house improvement projects.”
When he isn’t at home Dodd is busy with the Army Reserves.
He enjoys the great outdoors, especially going out on the water with his knee board.
