Due to sustained growth in recovery, increased complexity created by the introduction of new and flammable refrigerants, and a continuous drive to improve operations, Refrigerant Reclaim Australia (RRA) is seeking a new general manager.

The RRA's long-standing general manager, Michael Bennett, will step aside redirecting his focus to more specific programs and initiatives such as research into residual refrigerant charges in the split AC sector and enhanced training initiatives with TAFE.

He will also strongly support the new general manager, who is likely to commence work in the first quarter of 2019.

Bennett has enjoyed an outstanding career with RRA which operates one of the most successful product stewardship programs in the world.

Bennett has spent decades delivering on RRA's mission to reduce the RAC industry's impact on the environment.

His leadership and commitment has ensured RRA is recognised as a global leader in the recovery and safe disposal of ozone depleting and synthetic greenhouse gas refrigerants.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has been given the job of finding a new general manager.

In its advertisement seeking a new general manager, RRA said it is looking for a leader with a deep understanding of the refrigeration, air conditioning and mobile air conditioning sectors, and is fully cognisant of the properties of ODS and SGG refrigerants.

“The successful candidate will be well versed in all aspects of refrigerant handling, logistics, and safety requirements, and will have a passion for helping industry reduce environmental impacts," the advertisement said.

It also describes the candidate as someone willing to challenge the status quo, be independent, innovative and have a proven capacity to create, develop and implement new pathways to attain strategic goals.

The official advertisement will be published by CCN later this week.

Applications close Friday, December 21, 2018 and should be emailed to alison.bleathman@pwc.com
