Winners of the 2019 HVACR Leadership Awards were announced at CCN Live in Melbourne last week.

There were 27 finalists competing for awards in seven categories.

The presentation began with the Male & Female Rising Star Awards which are sponsored by ABB.

There were three finalists competing for the Female Rising Star Award which went to mechanical engineer, Jessica Holz of Aurecon Australasia.

ABB Australia's HVAC segment manager, Paul Burrows, announced the winners in both categories with the Male Rising Star Award going to James King of Precise Air Group.

Toshiba Air Conditioners once again sponsored the Innovator of the Year Award which also had three finalists.

Toshiba sales engineer, Patrick Fernando, announced the winner which was RealTime Analytics, a company working to digitize HVACR.

Panasonic Air Conditioning sponsored the Leader in Energy Savings and Sustainability Award which went to Dario Ferlin of Woolworths.

Ferlin is working to create 10 transcritical C02 sites in Australia by the end of 2019.

He was presented with his award by Panasonic Australia's Victorian and Tasmanian state manager for air conditioning, Kevin James.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air Conditioners Australia (MHIAA) sponsored the next award, Contractor of the Year. MHIAA general manager, Adrian Brown, presented the award to Mark Simmonds of Simmonds Heating & Cooling in Adelaide.

Daikin Australia has sponsored the Woman of the Year in HVACR Award since its inception.

Daikin commercial sales manager, Andrew Symington, announced the award winner which was Jenny Smith of About Airconditioning.

One of the most competitive categories this year was the Tradie of the Year, an award which was sponsored by Kirby HVACR.

Kirby managing director, Wayne Ferguson, presented the award which went to Robert Gruis of Woolworths.

The final category, which was sponsored by Refrigerant Reclaim Australia, was the HVACR Leader of the Year Award.

This award which was presented by RRA director, Greg Brooker, went to Robert Beggs of Temperzone.
