Meet PEER Group (SA) technician Emma Vandemeulengraaf.
Emma knew she didn’t want to go to university after finishing school. After doing work experience in a number of different trades, Emma chose refrigeration and air conditioning.
“I really enjoy the new skills I learn on the job and the variety of work I do. I am never bored because there is always something new to learn,” she said. “Plus with the skills I will have after my apprenticeship there are so many other pathways I can follow to keep the job exciting.”
The most challenging part of the job for Emma is balancing work and home life.
When asked about plans for the future, Emma said she would love to keep working in this industry.
“I don’t have a definitive plan yet but I know I don’t want to stop learning new skills,” she said.
