Meet Sims Refrigeration (NT) technician Jarrod Burgess.
Jarrod is a second year apprentice who followed in his brother’s footsteps.
“My brother did his trade through Sims so I got to know some of the boys through him that made the transition easy,” he said.
“The best part of the job is the variety we work on so many different products from the small stuff like ice machines and fridges through to air handling units, industrial air conditioning and cool room. Every day is different.”
What’s the most challenging part of the job? “Pressures. They teach us to use KPA at trade school, so chopping and changing between the two gets confusing,” Jarrod said.
For now Jarrod said his focus is on completing his trade. “It is such an interesting job I am sure there is plenty in store for me in the future.”
