Modine has opened its new 100,000 ft manufacturing facility in Chennai, India.
The event marked the beginning of full-scale, in-region production of Airedale by Modine data centre cooling equipment and a strategic positioning to meet accelerated demand from data centre customers across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
The president of Climate Solutions at Modine, Eric McGinnis, said the launch of the Chennai facility is a significant milestone in the company’s global growth strategy.
"The data centre market in India and across the region is growing rapidly. Establishing in-region manufacturing strengthens our ability to serve APAC data centre customers with speed, precision, and locally tailored solutions,” McGinnis said.
The launch event featured remarks from senior leadership, a tree-planting ceremony, and the unveiling of the first locally manufactured unit—the AireWall ONE fan wall.
More ranges are being incorporated into the production schedule to match increasing data centre demand across the region.
The state-of-the-art facility complements Modine's recently announced investment to expand US production, reinforcing the company's strategy to serve high-growth markets.
The increasing use of AI applications has driven demand for Airedale by Modine data centre cooling solutions, including high-efficiency chillers, indoor air systems, next-generation liquid cooling technologies, intelligent controls, building management systems (BMS), and a global service network.
