Daikin Australia has been awarded WELL Core Certification at the Platinum level for its Daikin Park Brisbane project.
The award is provided by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), the global authority for advancing health and well-being in buildings, organisations and communities.
Located in Murrarie, Queensland, Daikin Park Brisbane has become the first industrial site in Australia to receive the highest level of the certification.
The award was achieved under WELL v2TM, the latest version of the WELL Building Standard, a performance-based system focused on how buildings affect the health and well-being of the people inside them.
Daikin Park Brisbane is a flagship Daikin site built around optimising logistics, sustainability, customer experience and employee well-being.
The 13,609m2 facility is powered by Manhattan Warehouse Management System and serves Daikin Queensland customers with a comprehensive logistics solution to optimise fulfilment and dispatch operations for finished goods and spare parts.
It also houses a Daikin Trade Centre, training academy, showroom and Daikin’s Queensland sales office. It is one of four Daikin Park locations, with a fifth opening in Western Australia later this year.
Daikin Australia general manager of SCM & IT, Michael Trad, said Daikin Park Brisbane represents a new benchmark for what an industrial facility can be.
“Achieving this high standard reflects our commitment not only to operational excellence but to the health and well-being of everyone who works within our facilities,” Trad said.

Daikin Park Brisbane earned the Platinum level award based on several categories of building performance within the WELL Building Standard: air, water, light, nourishment, movement, thermal comfort, sound, material, mind and community.
Feature highlights in the project that contributed to the certification while advancing Daikin Park’s continuous sustainability best practice include six electric vehicle charging stations, eight low emission vehicle parking spaces, 1.3MW solar powered hot water, 380 indoor plants and 40,000L rainwater harvesting tanks.
The facility was also designed using Daikin’s energy-efficient Heat Recovery Variable Refrigerant Volume air conditioning system.
International WELL Building Institute senior vice president & head of Asia Pacific, Jack Noonan, said this achievement reflects the growing momentum behind healthier buildings across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
