Distech Controls is extending the Eclypse portfolio to VAV retrofit projects across key markets in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

The new Eclypse T1L Retrofit Solution enables building owners, facility managers and system integrators to modernise legacy automation systems incrementally, introducing IP-native connectivity, intelligence at the edge, and the cybersecurity capabilities of the Eclypse platform while retaining existing wiring.

This practical approach helps reduce disruption, project complexity, installation costs and risk. The solution became available through Distech Controls' network of system integrators and distributors from mid-October 2026.

Distech Controls VP of product management, Charles Pelletier, said for many building owners, the challenge is not recognising the need to modernise but finding a practical way to get there.

"Every project comes with different constraints, whether that’s keeping the building operational, managing investment carefully or making the most of infrastructure that still has value,” Pelletier said.

“The Eclypse T1L Retrofit Solution gives customers greater choice in how they move forward, so modernisation can be planned around their priorities today while creating a stronger foundation for what comes next.”

Many commercial buildings continue to rely on legacy building control infrastructures, limiting access to richer operational data, modern software experiences and stronger cybersecurity.

Yet traditional upgrade projects often require extensive rewiring, opening ceilings or walls and disrupting occupants, which can increase costs, extend implementation timelines and cause organizations to delay much-needed modernisation.

The Eclypse T1L Retrofit Solution helps address these challenges by enabling building owners to modernize at their own pace.

Rather than requiring a complete building overhaul, it supports staged upgrade strategies, allowing work to be completed room by room, floor by floor or across selected areas of a facility while buildings remain operational.

As part of Distech Controls' broader retrofit portfolio, the latest Eclypse range extension supports VAV application projects where existing wiring infrastructure remains suitable for continued use.

By preserving existing twisted-pair cabling, organizations can bring the cybersecurity capabilities of the Eclypse platform to legacy environments while avoiding unnecessary construction work and associated downtime.

Using 10BASE-T1L technology, the solution extends IP connectivity to the edge, in addition to providing a practical migration path from legacy control architectures.

Eclypse Facilities brings intuitive dashboards, open APIs, connectivity options and Wi‑Fi to existing infrastructure via the T1L network, providing facilities teams greater visibility, easier integration and more flexible control.

The Eclypse T1L Retrofit Solution combines three integrated components:

  • Eclypse VAV T1L Controller
  • Eclypse T1L Media Adapter
  • Eclypse T1L Unmanaged Switch

Together, these components provide a practical migration path towards modern building automation architectures, while unlocking access to the broader Eclypse ecosystem, its modern software experience and simpler lifecycle management.

By reusing existing infrastructure, the solution helps reduce installation costs, accelerate upgrade programs and support a smoother transition to modern building automation.

It also improves access to operational data and provides customers with a flexible migration pathway aligned with budget and operational priorities.

This latest development reinforces Distech Controls’ role as a modernisation partner for existing buildings, helping customers move from legacy control architectures to more connected and intelligent building operations in a practical and scalable way.

By extending the Eclypse experience to retrofit projects, Distech Controls is supporting future-ready building operations without the cost and complexity traditionally associated with major upgrade programs.
