Hydrochem’s state manager in Western Australia, Mark Romage, has closed the book on a 33-year career with the company.
Romage (Affil.AIRAH) had been at the helm in the west since relocating from Melbourne in 2009.
Perth is a far cry from Melbourne’s gritty western suburbs where Romage grew up and graduated from Footscray High School. He joined Hydrochem as a service technician way back in 1992.
Romage said he enjoyed his time on the tools, and it is something he believes is an important step for those aspiring to future leadership roles within the company.
His practical knowledge and expertise in cooling water systems large and small has helped many Hydrochem customers over the years. The ability to communicate complex technical concepts in simple, easy to understand terms is very important and something Romage excels at.
The future is rosy for the aspiring retiree. Romage and his wife have a holiday home in Dunsborough and a much wider list of travel destinations to tick off in the coming years.
Russell Nunan will take on the Western region manager position. Nunan has been with Hydrochem for eight years and has the breadth of experience necessary in commercial and industrial water treatment to build upon the great base that Romage has created for the company in Western Australia.
In a final comment that will warm the hearts of all West Australians Romage quipped that the highlight of his 33-year career was moving to Perth. His allegiance to his beloved Richmond Tigers, however, is perpetually unwavering!
