After successfully guiding the Air Conditioning and Mechanical Contractors’ Association (AMCA Australia) through one of the most significant periods in its history, Scott Williams has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer.

He has been replaced by Ben Hawkins who has been with the organisation for more than a decade.

During his tenure, Scott Williams led AMCA through the challenges of COVID, oversaw the transition from a federation of state-based organisations into a truly national association, and assembled a strong and capable team to drive the association into the future.

AMCA president Richard Drigo paid tribute to Scott Williams’s leadership and contribution to the HVAC industry.

“Under Williams’s leadership, AMCA has built strong foundations and positioned itself as a leading voice for the HVAC industry nationwide,” Drigo said.

“We thank him for his professionalism, dedication, and service to our members during a period of significant change and opportunity.”

Hawkins has worked across a range of roles at AMCA and tackled issues impacting the HVAC and building services industries nationwide.

Hawkins has deep sector knowledge and strong relationships across industry, government, and education partners.

“It’s a privilege to take on this role and continue serving the HVAC industry which contributes so much to the safety, comfort, and performance of Australia’s buildings,” Hawkins said.

“AMCA represents a strong and growing industry that plays a vital role in Australia’s built environment.

“I’m looking forward to working with our members, partners, and the Board to strengthen our industry’s capability and influence, and to continue building AMCA’s position as the Home of HVAC.”

The AMCA Board said it remains united in its commitment to supporting members and championing the HVAC industry as leaders in building construction and building services.
