CAREL's board of directors formally announced the appointment of Giandomenico Lombello to the role of managing director.

Lombella has been promoted from his previous role as the group sales and marketing director.

He has replaced Francesco Nalini, who will continue to maintain his role as CAREL’s CEO.

As managing director, Lombella will report directly to the CEO and play a general role in the direction, management and coordination of corporate operational process activities and functions.

In a statement, the company said the appointment aims to strengthen the administrative structure of the group, guaranteeing lasting support for the management of the business and strong protection for operational processes in a period of high growth for CAREL.

Lombello said it is a great honour to accept the new role and to assist Nalini.

“I hope to meet the expectations of the board of directors and to interpret this role in the best possible way,” he said.

Lombello graduated from the University of Padue where he studied electronic engineering. He joined CAREL in 1988 holding various positions before being appointed managing director.
