Embraco has launched the NEX platform of compressors for the Asia Pacific market.

It is a fourth generation platform after the NE, NEK and NEU families.

Sales and marketing director for Embraco’s commercial products portfolio in the Asia Pacific region, Esequias Pereira, said the solutions are suitable for food retail and food service, in applications such as display cases, ice makers, kitchen reach ins and beverage coolers.

One of the main benefits of the NEX in comparison with the previous platforms is the increase in maximum displacement from 18.7cc to 21cc, delivering a cooling capacity of up to 1620W.

It also up to 10 per cent more energy efficient than previous models and has the lowest noise levels.

This platform will be available for heavy duty applications in lower GWP (global warming potential) refrigerant options such as R290 but also in R404A.

“With this solution we aim to address the future needs of commercial equipment manufacturers’, offering energy savings, lower environmental impact and regulatory compliance,” Pereira said.

The NEX combined with the NTX, NJX and EHX compose the X Generation of Embraco compressors. Embraco also launched recently two new models of the NJX and four of the NTX, both platforms in the large category and in the market since 2019.

The entire X Generation works on natural refrigerant R290 (propane).

Pereira said EHX is a compressor platform launched in early 2020 and is suited to larger commercial applications including frozen food islands, ice cream freezers and large coolers.

He said the NTX is the next generation of the NT series, developed for applications that demand robust cooling such as multideck reach ins and ice machines.

NJX is an extended generation of the NJ series, reaching up to 2 Hp on a single piston compressor. Pereira said this product stands out for its high efficiency, low noise, robustness and reliability, and compact design.
