Vertiv has opened its own manufacturing facility in Johor, Malaysia, expanding the company’s presence in Asia to support AI and high-density computing across the region including Australia and New Zealand.
Strategically located in Senai, Johor, one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing industrial markets, the approximately 236,000 square feet (21,900 square meters) facility strengthens Vertiv’s ability to support customers with regional manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and deployment capabilities.
The site benefits from strong regional connectivity and proximity to key technology and customer hubs across the region.
Vertiv CEO, Giordano Albertazzi, said Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing regions for AI and digital infrastructure investment, and expanding the company’s manufacturing footprint in Malaysia aims to further enhance their ability to support customers with quality, speed, scale, and resilience.
“This facility represents another important step in our continuous capacity planning and deployment strategy as we further expand our regional and global manufacturing capabilities,” he said.
“As compute requirements evolve across multiple generations of AI infrastructure, customers need partners to provide power, cooling, and infrastructure solutions at scale.
“The Johor facility enhances our ability to help customers deploy critical digital infrastructure more efficiently while supporting long-term growth across Asia.”
Speaking at the launch, Invest Johor CEO, Tuan Haji Natazha Hariss, said Vertiv's investment in Johor reflects the growing confidence in the state's role as a strategic hub for digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.
“Beyond the capital investment, what is especially meaningful is the creation of high-value jobs, opportunities for local talent development, and stronger industry capabilities that will benefit Johor over the long term,” he said.
The Johor facility supports end-to-end manufacturing, assembly, and witness testing for advanced thermal and power infrastructure, enabling Vertiv to deliver high-density solutions with validated performance to help reduce deployment risk and accelerate time to capacity for customers across enterprise, cloud, and colocation environments.
The facility is expected to bring up to 500 skilled jobs to the region, when fully operational in 2027.
The facility leverages advanced manufacturing capabilities, automation tools, and comprehensive end-of-line testing processes designed to support quality, operational efficiency, and scalable production.
The facility also has dedicated flushing and validation environments engineered to support the cleanliness and performance requirements of high-density liquid cooling systems for AI applications, compliant with industry standards.
Vertiv Asia vice president & general manager, Paul Churchill, said the facility will enable closer collaboration with customers and a more responsive execution for complex infrastructure deployments.
