Aggreko has appointed Rod Saffy to area general manager for Aggreko Australia-Pacific.
Saffy will be taking charge of the company's Western Australia operations.
The Aggreko business in Western Australia has paralleled the growth of its customers in the mining and oil and gas industries over the last few years.
In 2013, the Perth hub has undergone significant improvements in order to better cater to both Perth-based and regional Western Australian customers.
Saffy, who will be based in Perth, is tasked with ensuring Aggreko is well positioned to cater to the ongoing needs of these customers.
Aggreko Australia-Pacific managing director, George Whyte, said Saffy has significant experience in the energy industry in WA and brings a fresh perspective to the local business.
"We'll be looking for the region to thrive under his leadership," Whyte said.
With core skills in business management and sales combined with his leadership experience, Saffy will add immediate value to Aggreko throughout the region, along with the on-going development of Aggreko's power and particularly temperature control offerings to key customer segments in mining, oil and gas, utilities, major events and industrial construction.
Saffy worked as a regional manager for Ativo Maintenance and Project Services in Perth and more recently as a sales manager for General Electric Power Generation Services.
There he worked with some of the largest energy companies in Australia. Saffy studied Mechanical Engineering in Cape Town South Africa and holds a Master's degree in Engineering Business Management from the University of Warwick in England.
