Air Change has taken out the Excellence in Innovation award at the 2013 AIRAH Awards.
The company won for its Data Centre Unit (AC-DCU) and is the first organisation to win the innovation category two years in a row.
The Air Change AC-DCU is a hybrid Air Handling unit, which is designed and manufactured specifically for energy-efficient data centre cooling.
Air Change CEO Steve Atherton said its unique feature is the sensible heat exchanger, which provides indirect free cooling for up to 88 per cent of the year.
"This award recognises and rewards the talent of the HVAC industry. I am thrilled that the AC-DCU was recognised for its contribution towards energy efficiency in the growing data centre field," Atherton said.
Air Change is an active supporter of the HVAC industry, sponsoring the 2013 AIRAH Sustainability Award which was won by CSR Building Products - Odyssey.
