Air conditioners were used to restore IT equipment after a data centre meltdown caused an airline disaster over the weekend when reservation systems stopped working.
Virgin Australia and Jetstar are demanding answers from IT company Navitaire which provided the reservation systems.
Thousands of passengers were left stranded on the weekend as a result of the three-hour meltdown.
Failure of the Navitaire reservations system was caused by a blackout at a data centre in Sydney operated by a third party.
Once power was restored, air conditioning had to be used to cool the equipment in the data centre to bring it back on line.
A Jetstar spokesman said a meeting will be held with Navitaire's senior management this week.
Last year Virgin reached a confidential settlement with Navitaire for damages after an 11-day blackout of its reservations system in September 2010.
The damages amount wasn't disclosed but the airline said the blackout had cost more than $10 million.
