Actrol did it again with a memorable gala dinner for more than 400 guests last night.
The Actrol dinner is one of the more extravagant events on the ARBS calendar and last night Actrol didn't disappoint staging its gala night of entertainment at the Plaza Ballroom.
Formalities were kept to a minimum but Actrol did take the opportunity to update customers on the Reece acquisition which was announced in February.
Acquisition leader, Sasha Nikolic, said Reece has taken a “long-term investment view” and is aiming to be number one in the market “by a long way.”
“In the three months we have been working together we have realised remarkable similarities between the two companies,” he said.
“We share the same values and the same vision and that's to be the best in customer service.
“Admittedly, the past few years have been challenging, and no doubt there will be a few more twists and turns to navigate until we reach the new norm. But this is a long-term investment and Reece is honoured and humbled to be a part of this industry.”
After a few words from Actrol's national sales manager, Andrew Leach, the entertainment began with a comedy routine by Tom Gleeson, best known for his role on Channel Seven news program, The Project.
Former Australian Rules football player, Sam Kekovich was the evening's MC regaling the audience with tales about his great Aussie pride, how the world has changed, why lamb is so delicious and what he considers to be totally inappropriate and un-Australian behaviour.
The after-hours activities will continue tonight with the 2014 ARBS Industry Awards dinner, which is being held at the Grand Hyatt.
