ARBS is the place to be to showcase new technology and make important product announcements.
There has certainly been no shortage of new announcements at this year's event.
If there was a theme for ARBS 2014 it would have to be innovation, a visit to the trade show floor and it is clear there has been significant strides forward in this area.
A good example is Daikin's VRV 4 which utilises Variable Refrigerant Temperature (VRT).
While the VRV 4 only became available in Australia last week, it made a big impression today.
Full specifications and details of the VRV 4 will be covered in CCN's more detailed coverage of ARBS in the July edition of the magazine.
In other news, Canadian firm Distech Controls is planning to set up local operations in Australia.
The company's president and CEO, Etienne Veilleux, said there is a lot of potential for growth in the Australian market.
“It is very similar to Canada; in fact in the past three years we have seen almost 300 per cent growth,” Veilleux told CCN while at ARBS.
He said Distech Controls will employ up to five staff in the next two years although the company is still undecided about whether to establish an office in Sydney or Melbourne.
Distech Controls won their first Australian customer, Melbourne University, back in 2001.
“Since then we have worked with a number of clients here, especially in the data centre space, and also with Westfields,” Veilleux said.
