Another highlight of this year’s exhibition was the gala dinner at which the ARBS 2014 Industry Award
winners were announced and five nominees were inducted into the ARBS Hall of Fame.

More than 450 attendees laughed and applauded their way through the evening which was held in the Savoy
Ballroom of Melbourne’s Grand Hyatt hotel.

ARBS chair Ian Hopkins formally welcomed everyone before announcing Daikin as the first winner of the
evening securing the Outstanding Industry Education and Training Award.

The Young Achiever Award went to Brett Saunders (pictured), the 32 year old founder and managing director of Hiflow
Industries.

ActronAir won the Product Excellence award for its Hercules packaged air conditioning unit, which was designed,
developed and manufactured in Australia.

Precise Air’s ‘Fresh Thinking’ customer service strategy won the Outstanding Service and Maintenance
Provider Award.

In just 12 years the company has grown to over 100 employees with annual turnover approaching $35 million
and an impressive customer retention rate of 98 per cent.

The HVAC Project Excellence Award went to Aurecon Australia for its multi-disciplinary engineering design
services for the $570 million Queen Elizabeth II Courts Of Law project in Brisbane.

The Coles team in Hallam, Victoria were the winners of the Refrigeration Project Excellence Award for good
engineering design and reducing energy consumption by 20 per cent.

The ARBS Hall of Fame Inductees for 2014 are Alan Woodhouse, Alan Obrart, Albert Watson, Bill Siganto and Kevin Lee.
All five were recognised for their long-standing contribution and commitment to the HVAC&R industry.
