The Victorian Government allocated billions of dollars toward infrastructure projects in its last state budget and this spend will be key to boosting growth across the state, according to Planning Minister Matthew Guy.

The Minister will deliver the keynote address at the ARBS Exhibition tomorrow morning, which is day two of the event, and is keen to outline the government's plans for Victoria's property and development industry.

Under his portfolio, the Minister said he has a remit to guide the state's property industry toward more efficient buildings that minimise energy use and reduce carbon emissions.
“Energy reduction has been a big focus for this government which has introduced a number of efficiency programs and initiatives,” Guy said.
“With the announcement last week of big ticket infrastructure projects the challenge will be to ensure they are delivered efficiently and support the expansion of the built environment.”
Guy said that his address will also raise questions about the government's environmental responsibility and whether the private sector should lead the charge in delivering savings across new and existing building stock.
Day one of the ARBS seminar program ended with a presentation on fan efficiency by ebm-papst A/NZ managing director, Simon Bradwell, and a session on the HFC phasedown by Thinkwell director Michael McCann and Expert Group managing director Peter Brodribb.
