The new Midea air conditioning product range was unveiled last week at a special event held at the Hyatt Regency in Perth.
The showcase was presented in front of a 23 metre banner backdrop that declared "Midea bigger than many of its main competitors combined."
It was hosted by Midea's national distributor Castel Electronics, in conjunction with newly appointed WA distributor Air Conditioning Wholesalers.
Special guests included Steven Yang, Midea Oceania general manager and Johnson Zou, Midea Asia market engineer, who travelled from Midea's headquarters in China.
More than 70 guests were in attendance at the event which featured the who's who of local industry from mechanical engineers, consultants and contractors to air conditioning specialists and representatives from the mining industry and WA's air conditioning technical training colleges.
While guests were impressed by the presentations the best feedback was reserved for the product showcase.
Highlights included the extensive range of VRF products from mini version 8 kW units through to 200 kW heat recovery models.
A lot of attention was directed toward the second generation solar powered model which will be on the Castel/Midea stand at next year's ARBS Exhibition in Melbourne.
The evening began with an introduction by John Croft, managing director of AC Wholsalers, who is a long serving air conditioning identity well known and well respected throughout WA.
There were also presentations by Castel sales director, Jeanette Dobson, major projects and business development manager, Bernie Bugdalski and product manager, Trevor Francis.
They talked about the future of Castel and Midea, as they plan for significant growth for the Midea brand in coming years. This growth will be further strengthened in WA with the support of AC Wholesalers.
As a token of thanks, each attendee received a Whirlpool Crisp & Grill microwave oven. Whirlpool is another major brand distributed nationally by Castel.
Bugdalski concluded the night's activities with details of more product showcases throughout Australia with the next event scheduled for Brisbane in early 2014.
