The Celi Group of Companies has acquired South Australian company Dadanco, bringing the total number of companies in the group to 10.
The acquisition is the second for the company this year, following its purchase of Australian manufacturer and supplier of air distribution products, Bradflo, in February 2012.
Dadanco is a leading Australian designer, developer and manufacturer of energy efficient air conditioning devices for commercial buildings.
Celi Group managing diector, Ted Celi, said Dadanco’s patented Active Chilled Beam technology is globally recognised as an energy efficient method of heating and cooling commercial buildings and is widely used across Australasia, Europe and Asia.
He said Dadanco’s focus on innovation was a key driver in the acquisition.
“Dadanco’s technology is the only one of its kind in Australia, and has been recognised in the scientific community and granted world-wide patents," Celi said.
"With the addition of Dadanco’s state-of-the-art research and testing laboratory, innovative product line-up and global relationships, the acquisition strengthens our existing Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) businesses and brands, including Bradflo, Bonaire, Pyrox, Climate Technologies, Gas ‘n’ Cool and Celair."
Dadanco is the only non-European chilled beam manufacturer to have achieved Eurovent certification of its products, the industry’s most recognised independent performance certification.
Dadanco business manager and former CEO, Dan Cole, said the company had pioneered new standards of efficiency, noise and energy reduction in its product offerings, which can significantly reduce HVAC running costs.
“We’re proud to have developed world leading induction nozzle technology and HVAC product performance and to remain the only Australian owned and operated chilled beam manufacturer in the market," he said.
"Our products have been used in some of the largest green buildings and HVAC refurbishments in the world, including successful installations in over 250 buildings in Australia alone."
With the acquisition of Dadanco, the Celi Group of Companies now employs more than 500 people, with operations in NSW, VIC, SA, ACT, WA and QLD. The Celi Group of Companies will look to integrate Dadanco’s South Australian operations into the Group’s Adelaide manufacturing facility in coming months.
