The College of Climate Change specialises in providing Nationally Accredited Hydrocarbon Training to the air conditioning and refrigeration industries.

Courses are run throughout capital cities and rural locations around Australia for refrigeration mechanics, manufacturers, engineers and consultants.

The college was created as a direct response to the ever increasing cost of power, the new carbon tax, diminishing company profits and the detrimental effect of fluorocarbon refrigerants on the environment.

As a result, training courses focus on energy efficiency, natural alternatives and hydrocarbons.

Hydrocarbons are currently being used by manufacturers and companies globally due to their energy efficient and environmental properties and benefits.

However hydrocarbons and natural refrigerants have progressed slowly in Australia partly due to  lack of training and education.

The current Nationally Accredited course (UEENEEJ174A & UEENEEJ175A) includes both a theory and practical element which covers topics such as: Typical applications for hydrocarbons, Acts, regulations and codes, Refrigerant volumes & categories, Storage and handling.

For large air conditioning and refrigeration companies, manufacturers, consultants,  the College of Climate Change can provide an in-house courses.

The College of Climate Change will also be running Automotive Hydrocarbon Training courses in the next couple of months.  This will cover the past and future refrigerants used in automotive air conditioning, including facts and comparisons of HFC R134a, HFO 1234yf, and hydrocarbons.
