Organisations that employ an airconditioning or refrigeration apprentice before February 2013 may be eligible for a $3,350 grant under the Apprenticeship Kickstart Initiative.
The initiative aims to address the skills shortage in specific industries particularly in building and construction.
It is specifically for small to medium sized enterprises with less than 200 staff and apprenticeships must commence between December 1, 2012 and February 28, 2013.
The grant is in addition to employer incentives already available for apprenticeships.
