Haier China is restructuring its presence in the Australian & New Zealand HVAC markets by acquiring full control of its brand in both countries.
Haier, in partnership with the wholly owned subsidiary Fisher & Paykel group, will be introducing a full range of Haier-manufactured HVAC products supported by Fisher & Paykel’s extensive service and logistics network.
Haier will initially introduce a range of reverse cycle Hi-Wall Split System air conditioners which will be followed closely by a series of commercial and industrial products to bring a comprehensive air conditioning solution to the HVAC market.
With the ability to produce over 19 million air conditioning units each year, Haier has engineers and industrial designers at the company’s specialist research and development centre working to ensure Haier air conditioners have the features, performance and ease of installation that customers demand.
Under the new arrangement, trade partners will be supported by a dedicated Haier air conditioning sales team to facilitate a more efficient and effective approach.
The arrangement covers Haier’s new and growing range of air conditioning products that is intended to be rolled out in the Australian market over the next three years, including a Hi-Wall Split System range, medium and high-static ducted, multi-head (Super Match), Variable Refrigerant Volume systems (MRV), and Chillers. The commercial and industrial products will be available through specialist air conditioning trade partners.
The company's national sales manager for Haier air conditioning, Tony Hirst, said the restructure will support the new range of products.
"The decision to restructure the distribution of our air conditioning business has allowed us to independently assess the market and how our product range and support processes fit with current and future demand. As a result, we will be upgrading the existing product range in the Australian market and will expand into commercial and industrial categories to offer a complete, feature-packed and competitively priced new range," he said.
The first step is to introduce a new Hi-Wall Split System range that will include an upgraded Classic series, which was previously known as the EG series, plus there will be two additional ranges, the ‘Premier series’ and the ‘Elite series’, offering greater energy efficiency and a larger feature set.
"We’re excited to be able to offer a complete air conditioning solution for our trade partners with increased feature benefits to cater to different customer needs and an established support network to back it up,” Hirst said.
As part of the Fisher & Paykel ‘family’ of brands, Haier has access to Fisher & Paykel’s dedicated 24/7 Customer Care team, sales desk, service technicians, and established warehousing and logistics available in every state.
“Integration of logistics, sales support and customer care across our brands means Haier can offer a comprehensive end-to-end solution that enables both our trade partners and consumers to always deal directly with the company,” he said.
Fisher & Paykel has an established business structure and processes that have been developed over 80 years of successful global business operations.
"This, combined with Haier’s commitment to R&D and innovation, will provide the experience and capability to support air conditioning trade partners and their customers," he said.
The new Hi-Wall Split System range to be released later this year will be backed by a manufacturer’s warranty of up to five years.
The three series within this range meet different customer requirements, with the upgraded Classic series offering value for money, and the Premier and Elite series delivering high performance with improved energy efficiency and a fresh new look.
The Elite series will also appeal to customers in dryer climates offering a unique ‘NanoAqua’ technology, designed to reduce dryness in the atmosphere.
