The opening of a new refrigerant packaging facility at Heatcraft's Milperra site means the company can also re-launch its Gas2Go program.

Heatcraft Australia has established a new refrigerant gas packaging facility at its Milperra site, west of Sydney.

The investment has significantly enhanced Heatcraft's control of the refrigerant supply chain from sourcing through to customer delivery and enabled the re-launch of the Heatcraft Gas2Go refrigerant offer, the company says.

In building the facility, Heatcraft Australia/NZ managing director Bill Moltner says the company has applied global capability and local knowledge to develop a first-class facility with a fastidious approach to quality.

"Our gas supply is from certified, reliable global sources and strict quality assurance testing is applied right throughout the supply chain,”Moltner says.

"This involves independent testing and verification at the supply source as well as further checks throughout the process at Milperra.

"Additionally, methods are in place to ensure we use dedicated cylinders for each gas type, with stringent controls over cylinder cleaning and identification.”

The company's refrigerants production manager, John Morgan, says all Heatcraft bulk (ISO container) refrigerant stock is tested to AHRI 700 international refrigerant standards.

"We have  two state of the art gas chromatograph (GC) machines on site, so our production batches are subject to GC scanning to verify concentration and composition as well as GC scanning for trace contaminants (nitrogen, oxygen, oils and hydrocarbons) and moisture analysis,” Morgan says.

"Our production batches are tested at the start, middle and end of a batch, verifying the system and product integrity plus all filled stock is leak tested before release. The Heatcraft internal standards for leaks exceeds industry standards.”

Morgan says all supplied cylinders are fully traceable back to the supply source.

The Heatcraft plant control system tracks the individual ISO container, fill station, quantity filled, date and time of fill against each individual cylinder serial number.

Finally, as part of the Gas2Go re-launch, Heatcraft has developed the Gas2Go Club offer.

Being a Gas2Go Club member means that customers pay one simple annual membership fee and avoid incurring daily cylinder rental charges.

Customers can tailor the maximum number of cylinders required at any one time to suit their usage patterns.

For an annual membership fee, they can then transact those cylinders as many times as required and only pay for the refrigerant.

Club members also have access to the Gas2Go Gas Credit, which refers to the amount of money refunded for unused refrigerant gas returned to Heatcraft as part of the cylinder exchange program.
