A special presentation on how to keep refrigerant costs down will be presented at the CCN Live Conference on August 13, 2014.
The presentation will be delivered by Michael Bellstedt, the principal and director of Minus40, a consultancy specialising in refrigeration, process cooling, industrial HVAC and heat recovery systems.
Bellstedt will draw on local case studies providing real-life examples on how to mitigate the risks of rising refrigerant costs.
With refrigerant costs continuing to increase significantly, it is a timely presentation.
Minus40 is committed to environmentally sustainable engineering design and has worked with a number of high profile businesses including the Ford Motor Company in Australia, Radevski Coolstores, Swire Cold Storage and GM Scott.
Radevski Coolstores is undertaking a $1.15 million refrigeration upgrade of its cool rooms and is keen to address rising refrigerant costs.
To do this, the company is introducing a new ammonia-based refrigeration system to service its 16 cool rooms.
The upgrade is expected to reduce costs by over $140,000 and will also take advantage of improvements in refrigerator design to reduce carbon emissions by 24 per cent.
Bellstedt is just one of an impressive lineup of speakers participating in CCN Live 2014, which will focus on the theme “Driving Profits in the Green Age”.
While last year’s conference had a forward looking focus addressing technology trends and the top issues likely to emerge over the next decade, this year’s event deals with the end user or customer expectations.
The goal is to hear from customers about their experiences dealing with HVAC&R suppliers and installations and will include presentations from facility managers and retailers.
A keynote speaker at CCN Live 2014 is Robin Mellon, the chief operating officer of the Green Building Council of Australia.
Mellon’s presentation is entitled “Measuring sustainability in the boardroom".
CCN Live will be held at the Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney and more special guest speakers will be announced in the next edition of CCN.
