Judging responsibilities for the HVACR Leadership Awards were shared between CCN Editor Sandra Van Dijk and industry veteran, Greg Groppenbacher of AREMA (Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturers of Australia).

Groppenbacher is the founding member and inaugral chairman of Refrigerant Reclaim Australia and is current board member and former chair of Refrigerants Australia. He spent 38 years with the Trane Company in Australia, the United States, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Brazil.

He has over 15 years board experience with the Trane Company and is a Past Fellow at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Winners of the HVACR Leadership Awards will be announced at a special industry breakfast and innovation forum to be held on Friday, August 14, 2015. This is your last chance to get tickets to the event which begins at 7.30am and concludes at 11am.

In addition to the award presentation, there is an outstanding lineup of speakers planned for the event as part of a special showcase of innovation. The featured project for the event is the $6 billion Barangaroo project in Sydney.

Norman, Disney & Young is the lead services consultant for International Towers Sydney with specific design responsibility for mechanical services, electrical services, security services, communications, building management and control systems and the Building Information Model (BIM). Detailing the innovative features of this project will be NDY director, Tim Spies.

Moreover, attendees will get a first hand account of Australia's largest district energy, cooling and water treatment plant at the site.

This presentation, which will outline details of how the 62 megawatt district cooling network will use sea water from Sydney Harbour will be presented by Veolia Group's energy solutions director, Ross Seabrook. Wrapping up the speaker program is Richard Sauerman, also known as The Brand Guy, who will share his own unique insights into business innovation.
