All products supplied by ebm-papst A/NZ are locally engineered regardless of whether they are made here or abroad. This allows the company to optimise the solutions it delivers to the Australian end user. It is this high level of customer support that has been formally recognised by the local business community with ebm-papst A/NZ recently awarded with two very special Wyndham Business Awards. Not only did ebm-papst win in its own Manufacture Small category but the company was also selected as the overall winner and was awarded Business of the Year. Organised by the local government authority in Melbourne's west, this is a highly anticipated event that is well supported by the local business community. Accepting the awards, ebm-papst managing director, Simon Bradwell, said he was pleased for the whole company. “We work hard to make a difference for our clients and having this opportunity for our work to be assessed by peers and to be recognised in this way is a huge pat on the back for the whole team,” he said. Recognising the company's commitment to sustainability the judges deemed ebm-papst a leader on the way to a greener future. Backed by the GreenTech principle that every new product must be ecologically and economically superior to its predecessor, ebm-papst has been spreading this message to surrounding businesses in the area. In June, ebm-papst A/NZ invited other manufacturing businesses in the West to their premises to hear experts explain how high-tech engineering partnered with sustainable production is good for business. As a company ebm-papst is increasingly using its local engineering and manufacturing experience to fill the void that has been left by the recent downturn in Australian manufacturing. Bradwell said ebm-papst A/NZ invests heavily in the capabilities of its teams across the organisation. As the judges said: “ebm-papst understands the importance and value of its people” which is reflected in the quality of its service and engineering practises. “The aim for us as a business is to make tomorrow better than today and to constantly push the boundaries of what is achievable,” Bradwell said. “All our teams are integral to the creation of a positive working environment which involves - taking individual responsibility, having integrity in what we do and how we behave, ensuring we have balance in our lives, having respect for all the communities in which we work and clearly communicating our intentions and how we feel.” In 2016, the company is hoping to double the size of its physical footprint by expanding its manufacturing base. “This will help us to push further into emerging markets as well as improve our customer support,” Bradwell said. “We are very much looking forward to the next 12 months and hope we can bring further prosperity to the Wyndham region.”
