ebm-papst A&NZ customers can expect better local support and faster access to new technology following yesterday’s announcement that Madison Air has agreed to acquire the German fan manufacturer for $US5.4 billion.

Responding to the acquisition announcement, A&NZ managing director, Dr Simon Bradwell, reassured customers that in the immediate term day-to-day operations remain the same.

He was eager to explain, in plain terms, what the acquisition really means for local customers.

“For now, nothing changes in our day-to-day business. We keep the ebm-papst name, our German engineering roots, and our local team,” Bradwell said.

“For customers, their contacts, contracts and service stay the same.”

Bradwell said the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be completed around the end of 2026.

“Our shareholder families chose Madison Air as the ideal long-term partner to support our continued growth in areas such as data centre cooling, cold storage, and energy-efficient buildings,” he said.

Bradwell said it is also good news for A&NZ customers because Madison Air already has businesses operating in the local market including Big Ass Fans based in Brisbane and heating brand Reznor.

“Madison's approach is to keep each of its companies and brands running independently, backing local teams to keep making their own decisions rather than folding them into one central operation," he said.

“That means ebm-papst A&NZ stays entrepreneurial and close with you, while still being able to team up, sharing know-how to build better, more efficient products for Australian and New Zealand conditions.

“For our customers, that will mean better local support, products suited to our climate, and faster access to new technology as demand grows across data centres, air-conditioning, building services, and refrigeration.”
