ARBS 2016 opened yesterday with a record 323 exhibitors and exceptionally strong visitor registrations, according to ARBS chair, Ian Hopkins.

By mid-afternoon on day one some 2,968 visitors had registered compared to 2,584 in 2014.

Hopkins said the exhibition is set to break previous records for attendance yet again.

He said the quality of the stands is once again excellent.

"The quality of the stands is high with a tremendous array of innovative designs," he said.

Hopkins also announced the prize winners for the best stands for 2016.

The best large custom stand went to ebm-papst while the best small custom stand was awarded to Holyoake Industries.

Testo won the best exhibit award with the best display of products and Hastings Data Loggers won the best shell scheme stand.

"In keeping with this great support for the exhibition, bookings for the ARBS Awards dinner tonight are also at record levels," Hopkins said.

The ARBS Awards, which are sponsored by Temperzone and ebm-papst, will be held tonight at the Crown Casino.

Hopkins said attendance at the seminars has also been impressive with most of the sessions at almost full capacity.

Seminar sessions planned for today include an update on the HFC phasedown in Australia including the Montreal Protocol and the review of the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas legislation.
