AHIC Australia has announced its support for R32 with a wide range of Toshiba air conditioning products making the switch to the low Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerant.

A comprehensive selection of Toshiba products across Hi-Wall, Multi Split, Ducted, and light commercial ranges will move to R32 refrigerant in 2021, with VRF, planned for early 2022.

Imports of R410A single splits systems will cease immediately, with multi-splits and light commercial products introduced on a progressive basis through 2021, according to AHIC Head of Sales & Marketing, Australia and New Zealand, Vijay Dravid.

“The switch to R32 represents the most significant product range expansion and realignment for Toshiba Australia in recent years, and not simply from a refrigerant and range standpoint but product features, aesthetics and smarts,” Dravid said.

To replace the R410a products, Dravid said the company is introducing an expanded line of R32 single split Hi-Walls featuring five different ranges.

The four new high wall R32 models provide entry-tier to high-level operational and comfort features that will match every residential room, no matter what size and function.

Dravid said the affordable and compact Seiya combines quiet efficiency and high performance in seven sizes where moderate functionality is required, such as bedrooms.

He said the mid-range Seiya Classic is available in 10 sizes to suit small-to-large frequently used rooms where energy efficiency and stylish looks meet the need for low ambient noise and added functionality such as 3D smart airflow and indoor air quality.

For the more astute customer, the Shorai Edge range provides the ultimate comfort and style with all the features of the Seiya Classic plus premium plasma air filtration, optimised energy consumption, a fireplace mode, and a clever outdoor unit noise reduction function for added neighbourhood comfort.

For the most discerning customer, Dravid said the Haori and Daiseikai 9 provide the ultimate comfort and style flexibility.

“All Toshiba’s R32 high wall units have a discrete elegance that will blend and harmonise with contemporary or traditional decors,” he said.

For customers who prefer more usable wall space. Toshiba’s floor-standing console units are available in three sizes with bi-flow air delivery, air filtration and directional floor heating to provide a comfortable and flexible air conditioning solution.

For users requiring discreet installation, ducted indoor units are just 210 mm in height and include adjustable external static air pressure and optional air filtration.

The new expanded range and redesign include several improvements and modifications, such as the electrics which are contained in a steel enclosure and cooled to prevent overheating of the PCB.  The same enclosure also serves as a protective device to keep out those pesky vermin looking for a warm place to sleep at night.

The SDI range of Light Commercial products features a leak detection system, and the all-new fan blade design delivers improved airflow. The new fan blade coupled with the increased surface area of the redesigned heat exchanger pushes efficiencies higher than its predecessors.

Confidence in Toshiba Air Conditioning products amongst dealers and installers has always been strong, so it comes as no surprise that Toshiba is backing its product with a leading 7-Year parts and labour Warranty.

The warranty extends to Residential applications but applies to the entire range of Toshiba products, from Hi-Wall splits, Multi Splits Light Commercial systems, including VRF.

As with all Toshiba air conditioning products and systems, Dravid said the hallmarks of the new R32 products are thoughtful design and manufacture for exceptional build quality, outstanding durability, and highest industry reliability. No compromises.
