EMSc (Australia) Pty Ltd has established an office in Melbourne to market its Powerstar voltage optimisation system and is also seeking partnerships and third party distributors for the product.
Powerstar is a unique triple wound voltage optimisation system that systematically reduces a site's voltage to the correct operational level and cleans the supply to reduce electricity consumption and improve a company's carbon footprint.
Offering both electronic-dynamic (MAX versions) and fixed optimisation solutions, Powerstar is the only system in the world with a patent on its design, and boasts a payback period of three to five years.
Heading up local operations is Sam Czyczelis, former engineering services general manager at Swire Cold Storage. He is joined by Arthur Savidis who has been appointed sales engineer in charge of overseeing Powerstar installations.
To reduce energy consumption Swire Cold Storage installed 10 Powerstar units using sizes from 575 kVA to 1500 kVA.
Energy savings from Powerstar average 12-15 per cent and other local customers include Coles Supermarkets and a number of local councils.
The international business development manager for the UK-based EMSc Group, Paul North, said the company has been manufacturing the system for more than 10 years.
"To continue developing market opportunities in the region we are keen to formalise relationships with local consultants, distributors and installation partners," North said.
"As well as Australia, Powerstar is exported to around 20 countries including South Africa, United Arab Emirates, Germany and Switzerland, to name a few."
