Energy efficiency is booming and this is just the beginning of Australia's transformation to a low carbon economy.
Carbon pricing is now in its 11th week of operation and financial incentives for energy efficiency programs totalling $6.5 billion is set to boost the local economy.
To keep pace with this changing environment, the Energy Efficiency Council (EEC) is staging a conference in Sydney from December 5-6, 2012.
The EEC national conference has been dubbed the premier event for energy efficiency, cogeneration and demand management in Australia.
This is because the program covers the latest policies, grants and technologies to maximise
energy efficiency and to hear from industry leaders and experts.
The 2012 program will focus on the energy market, cogeneration and trigeneration.
For the first time EEC will host a gala dinner and industry awards at the two day event.
Local and international speakers will present papers on industrial efficiency, commercial buildings, electricity networks and energy markets.
Day two of the event will be completely dedicated to cogeneration and trigeneration.
International keynote Dian Gruenich will present a global perspective on energy efficiency.
Gruenich is one of the world’s most respected figures in energy efficiency and the architect of California’s long-term energy efficiency plan.
Sponsors include Dalkia, Low Carbon Australia, AGL and MWM Energy Australia.
