The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) has announced that chief executive officer, Jane Henley, will step down from the role in March.
Henley was appointed CEO in February 2010. She was previously the founding CEO of the New Zealand Green Building Council, which she helped establish in 2005.
WorldGBC chair, Bruce Kerswill, praised Henley’s contribution over the past four years.
"Henley has been instrumental in growing the green building council network into a global movement that now boasts GBCs in 100 countries around the globe,” Kerswill said.
“She worked hard to establish the WorldGBC’s five regional networks in Asia Pacific, Africa, the Americas, Europe and MENA. She championed global events such as Green Building Week, and was a driving force behind the development of our two ground-breaking reports: The Business Case for Green Building and Health, Wellbeing & Productivity in Offices.
“Henley has been a passionate advocate of market transformation through business-led change, and has helped to build a strong foundation for a sustainable global property industry. We wish Jane well on the next stage of her career,” Kerswill said.
Henley continues to follow her interest in business-led change, and will focus on entrepreneurial activities alongside studying at the prestigious MIT University in Boston.
The WorldGBC will be seeking a new CEO, and information about the role will be available on the WorldGBC web site shortly.
