The winners of the Rothenberger/Reece trip to Germany have returned from their seven day tour which included the Rothenberger TEC Centre in Frankfurt and the world renowned Oktoberfest in Munich.

The winning team, which included five Aussies and one Kiwi, spent two informative days at the TEC Centre undertaking product training on a variety of core products for core drilling, drain cleaning, cameras, Roweld plastic welding, Romax press tools, expanders, brazing and pipe joining and refrigeration tools.

The 60-year, Rothenberger Group success story is reflected in its TEC centre which is the company’s global base for innovation, quality, research and development.

It is an ideal location to actively exchange technological information with customers and staff.

Tour winner Matt Menzel of Haig & Menzel Contractors was certainly impressed with the state of the art TEC Centre and its modern facilities.

“The TEC Centre and headquarters in Frankfurt was amazing. We learnt the history of the company from its beginnings to the present day,” Menzel said.

“The tour of the factory floor was a great experience. Rothenberger’s commitment to quality and quality control is second to none.

“The factory was immaculate and operated like clockwork.”

Another winner Michael Harty of Michart Plumbing said it was great to visit such a modern facility, and to see such a high quality of workmanship first hand.

“Not only did we see the products but there were plenty of opportunities to be hands-on with a range of products from core drilling, Roweld equipment, drain cameras and drain cleaning machines,” Harty said.

“We were all impressed at how passionate the workers were about their products, you could tell in their voice that they loved their work and were proud of the products.”

After two full days at the TEC Centre, the winners caught the Ice train from Frankfurt to Munich to get settled in and do a little “reconnaissance” prior to Oktoberfest the next day.

“We found a Bier Tent and stayed the night,” Harty said.

During the next two days the winners donned traditional lederhosen and attended Oktoberfest.

“It was a lot of fun, an awesome time was had by all. You have to see it for yourself to believe the size of the event and the number of people that were there,” he said.

Reece and Rothenberger Australia will be running a similar competition in 2013.
