Air Change Australia has announced a partnership with US-based thermal storage manufacturer, Calmac.
Air Change has been appointed the sole distributor of Calmac Icebank off-peak cooling systems in Australia and New Zealand.
The Icebank thermal storage systems are single-piece, factory-assembled units to ensure reliability.
They are used in chilled water systems to offset energy use from high day tariffs to lower night time tariffs, while cutting down peak loads.
The thermal storage systems are an ideal solution in our carbon constrained economy, according to Air Change sales manager, Shane Carmichael.
“Historically, thermal storage systems in Australia have been designed to provide full ice storage, which isn’t always viable,” Carmichael said. “Utilising these systems for partial storage you can save on capital cost and reduce peak load.
“Here at Air Change we are excited about bringing this new product to the local market.”
Calmac designs and manufactures off-peak cooling systems to air condition buildings.
The company’s New Jersey manufacturing facility produces over 4000 storage tanks annually.
